She suggested I smell the same each time I go to the baby house -- and she gave me Bath & Body Works Cucumber Melon Bath Wash & Lotion.
So, won't my daughter be surprised when she is having a regular day -- like any other, and then her new Mommy starts to visit her -- and boy does she smell good.
Once she is back in the states -- she'll get used to my regular old smelly (LOL) self.
Karen! I am so glad you are keeping a blog and thank you for inviting me! The same smell strategy is an excellent one. I can't wait to meet you in Semey in a couple of weeks when I swoop in to bust Anelya out of the baby house. The Semey Baby House is extraordinary and I am so happy for you and your daughter. I can't wait to follow and share your journey to and in Kaz! You know i am here if you have any questions or if you just need support! xo Andrea
ReplyDeleteKAREN!!!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooooo soooooo sooooo excited for you! What a long journey it's been and in just a few days you'll be holding your baby daughter in your arms!
Having a daughter has been one of the true joys of my life. You are going to be such an AWESOME Mommy.
Congratulations and I look forward to reading all about your 5-week stay in Kazakhstan.
I'm glad to know you'll be smelling cucumber melon fresh the entire time :-)
In fact, you'll be surprised at how even years later when you smell that fragrance -- you'll be taken back to the time you met your daughter.
So spill the details, sister. Does this sweet little girl have a name? Will you keep her birth name or give her a new name? How old is she (I know a "baby" can be up to 3 years old)? Will you be solo or will you have any family/friends joining you during your trip??
Wow-- I'm thrilled for you. Thanks for including me on your happy, happy news!
Felicia
Hey Karen--
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to hear the adoption process has worked out for you! :) Can't wait to see pics of you and your new daughter. Your life has just taken a new, exciting turn by inviting a child into it -- hang on for the ride!
Thanks for including me in your good news!
Donna
Kami - I can see why you'd want your daughter's first "smell" of her mommy to be Cucumber Melon, but I'm sure she'll get used to the "real" smell...chocolate and potato chips!

ReplyDeleteHi Auntie Cocoa, I saw the pictures of Kamilla and she looks really cute. How are you doing?from,Kyle
ReplyDeleteKaren,
I love you! I'm missing you because I know you are so far away. It looks like you already adapted to the role of Mommy. You look like you're an expert. I'm so happy for you and proud of you!
Kamilla,
Good girl! Keep up the good work. Make sure you do everything your Mommy doesn't want you to do. Go in her purse, the bathroom and even stand on the table. She's a softie - she'll hold you up there.
I love you already, you little sweetheart!
Hugs and kisses,
Auntie Kristin
